About us
We make one garment.
Most brands add. A polo line becomes a shirt line, then knitwear, then trousers, then a season that has to be replaced by the next season. Attention spreads. Quality follows attention.
We went the other way. Piqué Studio makes polos. Five of them. That is the whole catalogue, and it is not a starting point we intend to grow out of.
Why the polo
The polo has been in continuous circulation for a century, which almost nothing in clothing can claim. It survived because it solves a real problem: it is the only garment that works with tailored trousers at lunch and with swim shorts an hour later. It does not need reinventing. It needs making well, which is a harder and less interesting problem, and therefore one most people skip.
Why Piqué
Piqué is a weave, not a fabric. The yarn is worked into a raised, open structure that lifts the cloth off the skin and lets air move through it. That is why it has outlasted every trend that borrowed it, and why a piqué collar stands where a jersey collar collapses.
Our reference polo is made in Pima cotton piqué. Pima has a longer fibre than standard cotton, which spins into a smoother and stronger yarn. You do not see the difference in the first photograph. You see it in month six, when the collar is still upright and the colour has not gone chalky.
What we leave out
No logo across the chest. No seasonal collection that makes last year's polo look dated. No colour we would not wear ourselves for three summers running.
Six colours on the Original, four on the Piqué, and a price of 69,99 € that reflects the yarn and the construction rather than a marketing budget.
